The Phoenix Chapter board of MPA includes the following:

Summary of position responsibilities:
President:
Kenneth Steiness, PMP
- Chairs MPA Chapter meetings,
opens/closes meetings, introduces officers and makes announcements
- Serves as primary liaison with external organizations
(Microsoft & MPA Global)
- Promotes corporate sponsorship for MPA
Phoenix
- Actively recruits new volunteers/officers
for the chapter
- Creates new officer positions to benefit
the chapter based upon needs
- Ensures that chapter is in line with MPA
Global policies/requirements according to Chapter Charter
- Maintains meeting information, financial
reports and chapter activity for Chapter Quarterly Report
- Ensures that Chapter's Quarterly Report is
submitted to MPA Global
- Function as secondary PDU coordinator for
chapter
Vice President:
Miguel Morales
- Conducts chapter business and chairs
meetings in absence of President
- Acts as secondary liaison with external organizations
(Microsoft & MPA Global), assisting the President
- Assist President in promoting corporate
sponsorship for MPA Phoenix
- Assist President in actively recruiting
new volunteers/officers for the chapter
- Assist President in pursuing information
from Chapter board to identify new roles/responsibilities to benefit the
chapter
- Assist President in ensuring the chapter
is in line with MPA Global policies/requirements according to Chapter
Charter
- Assists in maintaining meeting information
and chapter activity to be included in Chapter Quarterly Report
- Assists President in completing Chapter
Quarterly Report
- Primary PDU coordinator for chapter
- Submits REP number for quarterly meetings
- Obtains prizes and awards for quarterly
meetings
Secretary:

- Documents and distributes the minutes of
all Chapter board meetings
- Prepares highlights of quarterly meetings
for inclusion in Chapter Quarterly Report
- Works with Web Team to update
MPA Phoenix
web-site content, ensuring current information based on board meetings
- Issues PDU certificates for quarterly
meetings
- Coordinates with MPA Global to acquire
materials for quarterly meetings
Treasurer: open
- Collects all dues and fees related to the
operation of the chapter
- Maintains an independent bank account for
all chapter income and expenses
- Maintains a record of all chapter income
and expenses to be submitted in the minutes of each meeting
- Prepares financial report for Chapter
Quarterly Report
- Prepares budget and tracks expenses and
income
Communications
Officer: John Nelson, PMP
- Coordinates communications between Chapter
board, members and other interested parties
- Prepares quarterly meeting invite and
collects RSVPs
- Assists in development of chapter literature, flyers,
announcements, newsletters, etc.
- Maintains official chapter email account
and provides audit trail of communications
- Maintains email distribution list for
quarterly meetings
Workshop Manager:
open
- Reviews workshop topic suggestions
- Plans/organizes/coordinates MPA Phoenix
workshops meetings in advance, ensuring smooth delivery and execution
- Develops Workshop Advertising
Flyers
- Provides information to the chapter PMI
REP liaison to allow completion and submission of the PMI REP Program
Application Form for each Workshop
Meeting Manager:
Mary Hershner, PMP
- Reviews quarterly meeting topic
suggestions, researches potential speakers
- Plans/organizes/coordinates MPA Phoenix
quarterly meetings in advance, ensuring smooth delivery and execution
- Coordinates with Microsoft liaison on
quarterly meeting space, catering, prizes, etc.
- Develops Quarterly Meeting Advertising
Flyers
- Provides information to the chapter PMI
REP liaison to allow completion and submission of the PMI REP Program
Application Form for each Quarterly Meeting
- Prepares meeting announcement text, with
agenda, for use in Meeting Announcement and Quarterly Meeting Handout
- Schedules/coordinates with speakers and
obtains preliminary/final copies of feature presentations and demos, as
required, for Chapter board review and submission to MPA Global
Special Events:
Mary Hershner, PMP
- Evaluates proposals for special events around Microsoft Project
- Plans/organizes/coordinates MPA Phoenix Special Events, such as seminars and participation in local conferences and symposiums
- Represents MPA Phoenix at Microsoft Project related events
Web Master: open
- Works closely with other Chapter board
members to develop and update chapter web site
- Ensures that www.mpaphx.org
web site
information is current and accurate
- Maintains email accounts associated with
website
- Ensures quarterly meeting information for
the Phoenix Chapter is updated on the MPA Global website
Expert Team Lead:
Janet Wilson, PMP
- Leads the Expert Team in providing answers
to members' Microsoft Project questions
- Works with Expert Team to develop "Tip of
the Quarter" for web site
- Presents new ideas from Expert Team to
Chapter board members
Membership
Officer:
Lora Christoffel, PMP
- Maintain membership list and coordinate
with MPA Global
- Work with companies to create corporate
membership
- Assist MPA Global with renewing
memberships
- Advertise membership and benefits to other
organizations
- Recruits new chapter members, coordinates
membership rosters with MPA Global and chapter officers
- Identifies/promotes new sources for
recruitment, such as professional organizations, universities
- Follows-up with membership expirations
and ensures that officers and volunteers have active status
Public
Relations
Officer: Steve
Arnold
- Promotes and solicits chapter sponsorship
- businesses, schools, universities, etc.
- Answers sponsorship questions and shares
information with potential sponsors
- Tracks, maintains and reports on
sponsorship agreements
- Represents the Chapter and promotes
Chapter activities (distributes advertising flyers etc.) at PMI meetings,
Microsoft events and other external events
- Ensures chapter sponsorship signs are
current and displays them at quarterly meetings
- Takes pictures at quarterly meetings and
sends to webmaster for publishing on web site
- General responsibility for external
communications, i.e. communications outside the MPA Phoenix membership
